The New Zealand Globster was a large unidentified carcass that washed ashore at Muriwai, on the west coast of North Island, New Zealand, in 1968. It was 30 ft (9.1 m) long and 8 ft (2.4 m) high. J. E. Morton, chairman of the Zoology Department at the University of Auckland, was quoted as saying, “I can’t think of anything it resembles.”
