If you blink along the Pakuranga Highway, you’ll definitely miss this little cemetery reserve, almost hidden away between neighbouring residences.
The Chapel at this site was initially built in 1852 on Picton Street in Howick and was moved to the Pakuranga Road address sometime around 1865. The Chapel itself now resides at the Howick Historical village, leaving roughly 24 memorials in the small fenced-off section.
The section is still well maintained; however, it appears the site has unfortunately fallen victim to scrap metal thieves seeking brass plaques.
