My wife and I moved from Bedfordshire to Auckland in 2008. We share a love of sci-fi, horror, the MCU, tattoos, Thursday Murder Club mysteries, Bob’s Burgers, and LEGO. My other big passions are Vikings (the TV show and the real people), Stone Roses, Northern Soul, and our four cats: Fr Dougal, Ragnar, Pumpkin, and Gene.
In my working life, I’m an independent roofing consultant with a background in construction engineering. This involves flying a drone for photography, which is pretty cool.
I’m a Pagan. Well, technically, I’m a Heathen since I follow the Nordic Path. For me, an interest in spirits, otherworldly stuff, and “spooky things” is part of that. I guess I naturally tend to be more of a believer than a sceptic. But, although I have an “in principle” belief that ghosts exist – and am aware of incidents that potentially support this – I’ve yet to personally experience anything to totally convince me.
I love tarot cards (I have six packs) and I make my own incense.
Seasonal celebrations are a big deal in our house, particularly Samhain/Hallowe’en. We always enjoy this special feast when we can raise a glass to absent friends and whānau. We’ve tried dressing up the cats for these occasions, but they’re stubbornly uncooperative (sadly!)
It’s an honour to be the newest member of the Paranormal NZ team. I hope my perspective on paranormal studies – “spiritual, but not entirely convinced yet” – can be useful.
