The love of Tabby

I had a cat, Tabby, who was my best friend and had an amazing bond with him when I was 6. He went missing one day at a time when cats around the street were dying, due to someone not liking cats and putting rat poison out for them to drink and die.

We assumed he had went off and died somewhere, and I’ve never been able to get over it. At the end of last year I started seeing him round the house. I have two tabby cats that are quite small and he was massive, so I know it wasn’t them. I would see him wandering into rooms around the house and I took it up with my mum to get a boy kitten in January. When mum agreed, I completely stopped seeing him and I still hadn’t yet got a new kitten. I was sitting in my room on a chair, feeling really down thinking about him. All of a sudden, I see this big tabby cat walk in and curl his tail around my bed, like he was wanting food. I thought it was Tinsel and told her “not now Tinsel, I’m busy” and I turned to look at her. She was fast asleep on my bed and my door was shut, so it wasn’t my other cat.  I  know Tabby was there, telling me it’s going to be okay.
