Mangere Presbyterian Church

The Mangere Presbyterian Church is constructed in the late “timber Gothic” style and was built in 1874. It is registered for protection by Manukau City as a Category Two historic building.

The church was originally constructed for $440 on land donated by Mr Robert Wallace. Famous members of the church include Robert Wallace himself, along former New Zealand Prime Minister William Massey (see Massey Homestead). The church was led by the Reverend Middlewood Kirkbride, who lends his name to the road on which the church is situated.

When not creating electronic music, watching Horror movies and documentaries, archiving and documenting NZ’s diverse and eclectic music history, I have spent countless hours investigating and furthering my research out in the field, either as part of a group or solo, since the early 80′s. I’ve spent much time in opportunistic investigations whilst travelling around New Zealand and Internationally.
