Category: Abandoned Buildings
From time to time, often with the permission of the owners or trustees, we gain access to abandoned or derelict properties to photographically document the interior and exterior. Sometimes we stumble upon an abandoned structure, sitting lonely and unloved, so we stop to take photographs so that these charming pieces of New Zealand history can be documented as existing, and appreciated by others. The team’s photographs have been used in the past as evidence in insurance cases, Fire Service investigations and for news media coverage.
NOTE: These photos are documents of the existence of various historical (and some non historical) locations.
We are not implying that these locations are haunted, (Some may very well be, but we havent yet had any reports) but present them here for the enjoyment of others.
IMPORTANT: We do not condone or encourage the breaking in and entering of secure buildings. Please respect the locations and the owners. Do not cause damage or steal from locations. Please be safe and act in a responsible and respectful manner. ”Take nothing but photographs, leave nothing but footprints”.
Also note; we do not give out location addresses as it can attract those with ill intent. thieves, vandals, squatters, arsonists etc… Please dont ask.
St Stephens House – 9 St Stephens Avenue & 1A Brighton Road, Parnell [To be Demolished]
One of the misconceptions in the research that we do, is that we can gain special access to any building we desire. If there are reports of possible paranormal activity, or a house is of historical value, then Haunted Auckland can automatically gain ‘red carpet’ access to investigate and document. This just isn’t the case.… Continue reading St Stephens House – 9 St Stephens Avenue & 1A Brighton Road, Parnell [To be Demolished]

Rejected, but still proud.
A stubborn, but very proud old guy lived here once. Never asked anything of anyone. Lived alone and rejected offers of help from neighbours. Preferred a life of solitude and independence. Now he’s gone and the house sits….alone. Rejected, but still proud.

Life comes to an end – West Auckland
Hidden up a suburban driveway, this old abode sits rotting, long empty and pretty much beyond the point of repair; awaiting an eventual land sale. Nice to see this one hasn’t been vandalised or stripped of anything of value by the parasites that prey on locations like this. Thanks to Aotearoa Abandoned for the heads up on this interesting location.… Continue reading Life comes to an end – West Auckland
Abandoned in Moteuka
Whilst travelling around the region, I came upon this little abode. The lovely lady neighbour who granted me permission to photograph the location told me she hadn’t seen the owner in years and that there was originally a house in front which had burnt down in an accidental fire tragedy many years ago. Last she… Continue reading Abandoned in Moteuka
